Chelsea have confirmed Graham Potter as their new manager following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel. Potter, 47, leaves Brighton to sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge after the Seagulls gave Chelsea permission to hold talks with their manager. Former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, who is currently without a club, was also considered for a role. Potter began building his stellar reputation away from English football with Ostersund, who were playing in the fourth tier of Swedish football when he took over as head coach in 2011. Within six years he has guided the club to the top flight and to the Europa League where they claimed a famous scalp over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in 2018. Chelsea have sacked Thomas Tuchel after the club lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. The Blues have started the season poorly in the Premier League too, losing to Leeds and Southampton. They have won three games this season but those were laboured performances against Everton, Leicester, and West Ham, that could easily have offered worse results.
