Manchester City squad numbers for the 2022/23 season have been made official. However, the squad numbers are subject to change during pre-season. The new season kicks off next weekend. Pep Guardiola's side were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool in the Community Shield on Saturday. Arsenal have announced updated squad numbers ahead of the new Premier League season. The Gunners have been very busy in the current summer transfer window, signing the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Pablo Vieira, Marquinhos, and Zinchenko. Striker, Alexandre Lacazette has already followed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the club, returning to Lyon at the end of his contract. Premier League champions Manchester City face FA Cup holders Liverpool in the 100th edition of the FA Community Shield – a fixture both clubs know well. The founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop Oyedepo, laments the current economy of Nigeria as inflation hits hard. In a speech to his congregation, the man of God recalled his warning to Nigerians against voting for the current administration. Veteran Nollywood actor, Kenneth Aguba has relived his awful experience in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. Noting that he started his acting career in 2003, and has featured in tons of movies, Aguba revealed that he was paid a paltry sum of five thousand naira for most of the movies He also disclosed that some of the movie directors even refused to pay him after he had rendered his service. Aguba's revelation follows recent stories bordering on his homeless which propelled a popular clergyman, Apostle Chibuzor to lend him a helping hand. The President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has assured that the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will soon be over. Goodluck Opiah, the Minister of State for Education, assured that Buhari's administration is committed to ending the ASUU strike. Opiah gave the assurance in Owerri, Imo State, while addressing journalists over the weekend. "I can assure you that the government is very concerned about the situation. Even as I speak to you now a lot of thinking, a lot of discussions and meetings are going on with a view to resolving the matter as quickly as possible. "I am hopeful that the disagreement between the government and ASUU will be resolved soon so that our children can go back to school". ASUU has been on strike since February 2022 over face-off with the Federal Government due to mode of payment for university lecturers.

The Oko Oba community in Agege, Lagos State, has been thrown into a state of devastation after Saturday's heavy downpour ravaged its environs. The heavy flood swept away buildings, goods and vehicles, leaving the entire community in panic. Tragically, several occupants of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), which got trapped in the raging flood have now been confirmed dead. According to an eyewitness identified with the Twitter handle @TTofChelsea, only one person could get out of the embattled vehicle while the rest died. Pastor Adeboye clarifies reports alleging he asked Christians to buy guns The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has denied reports making the rounds that he asked Christians to buy guns for self-protection. The renowned cleric made this known during the church's monthly thanksgiving. The clarification came against reports that he said it was now "fire-for-fire'' for any attack on Christians.
