The race for this season premier league golden boot award got more interesting yesterday as Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo, scored a goal against Brighton yesterday and kept his hope of winning the prestigious award this season alive. Nonetheless, I decided I put up this article to display the current standings after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal yesterday and overtook Son on the log.

1. Mohamed Salah - Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah, currently leads the race in winning the prestigious award this season. Salah so far this season, has scored 16 premier league goals with 9 assists for Liverpool.

2. Diogo Jota - Mohamed Salah is closely followed by Diogo Jota who currently has 12 goals with one assist so far this season. Jota recently closed the gap on Salah due to his (Salah) absence from the premier league competition during the just concluded AFCON tournament.

3. Raheem Sterling - 10 goals in 21 appearances for Manchester City so far this season.

4. Cristiano Ronaldo - Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand, moved up to the fourth position on the log, after he scored a beautiful goal for Manchester United against Brighton Hove & Albion last night.
